FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Malta Boxing Association meets Shadow Minister for Sport to Discuss Issues Affecting Maltese Sport and Joint Projects.

The Malta Boxing Association (MBA) met with the Shadow Minister for Sport, Hon. Graham Bencini, MP, on 21/02/2023, alongside Mr David Pace who discussed various issues affecting Maltese sport in general and the sport of boxing in particular, as well as to explore possible joint projects.

The meeting was attended by the MBA President Marc E. L. James, who raised several important matters with the Shadow Minister, including the need for increased funding for sport and support for local athletes, the development of grassroots sports programs, and the importance of promoting sports as a means to improve public health and well-being.

During the meeting, Hon. Graham Bencini, MP, listened carefully to the concerns raised by the MBA and emphasized the importance of working together to address these issues. He pledged to support the MBA in its efforts to promote and develop the sport of boxing in Malta and to work towards the wider goal of improving Maltese sport as a whole.”We are grateful for the opportunity to meet with the Shadow Minister and discuss the pressing issues facing Maltese sport.

JamesIn addition to the discussions, Marc James, expressed his admiration for the Parliament Building’s history and artifacts on display. He said, “It’s truly impressive to see the rich history of Malta on display here.

I hope that in the future, we can add to this collection by showcasing the achievements of our Maltese athletes, particularly in the sport of boxing.”Both parties expressed a commitment to developing and implementing joint projects, with the goal of launching them by the end of this year while expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet with the Shadow Minister and look forward to working with him and other stakeholders in the sports community to achieve these important goals.
