Magsayo and Vargas weigh-in

World Boxing Council featherweight world champion Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo of the Philippines and former super bantamweight world champion Rey Vargas from Mexico will square off tomorrow Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Rising Filipino star Mark Magsayo (24-0, 16 KOs) will look to make the first defense of his WBC featherweight championship against former 122-pound world champion Rey Vargas at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas this Saturday night.

Magsayo shocked the boxing world in January when he defeated superstar Gary Russell Jr. and now looks to underline that he is the best featherweight in the entire world.
In the other corner, the Mexican Rey Vargas arrives with the firm intention of conquering his second division.

The fight is organized by Premier Boxing Champions and will be televised on Showtime.
Both fighters passed the official weigh-in without problems. Magsayo posted 125.4 pounds, while Vargas was 125.5 pounds.
